I am artist, sculptor and musician whose practice and is based in the public realm, with years of experience of working in collaboration with a diverse range of community groups to design and create sculptures, mosaics, wall-based artworks, community gardens and artworks for outdoor space. I’m interested in working with sustainability, reclaimed materials and environmentally friendly processes wherever possible and I aim to create unique designs with an emphasis on the group’s needs and ideas. I specialise in running art and design based workshops with different groups, such as young people with learning disabilities, elderly people and local residents, to draw out their ideas and allow participants to contribute to and shape their environment. By working closely with people, using a range of materials and approaches to experiment and play, I aim to promote teamwork while encouraging the creativity of each participant so that the designs I make reflect their desires and needs as a group. My approach is to be sensitive to local contexts and communities and balance this with the demands of the natural space, so that it will be embraced by the local community. ..
