Working as an artist in various art forms, such as Fine Arts, Mosaics, and Photography, my focus and passion is making work which deals with the world around me, using figurative motifs, elements which can be identified yet are seen under a new light.

The medium itself enhances what I seek to create: such as the suggestions made by ceramic tiles or broken crockery, or the way light and shade is created within a photograph. Within my Fine Arts I like to work from nature, the observation of life itself, but am not averse to using photographs or sketches to create a meaningful image.

I try to incorporate these artistic factors as a way of enhancing children and adults’ creativity when working as a freelance Arts Educator. This includes helping to build art, design and craft skills which can often raise self-esteem and a sense of individuality. I have also developed workshops on issues dealing with multiculturalism/ diversity/ ecology and with EFL / ESOL groups of students.
