Mazzotta, Justin Mazzotta, Justin Mazzotta, Justin
Justin Mazzotta sees himself as an illustrator/image-maker and his life-long passion with visual language and the process of it is reflected in his work, which presents the onlooker with its vitality and uniqueness. Its hand-made quality combined with the conceptual contents leave the viewer with beautifully crafted pieces of an individual and rare quality.

“The interest in my work lies between its hand-made character which is raw and fresh with a clear idea imbedded, which adds another layer of depth” (Mazzotta 2006)
Having studied Graphic Design at the LCP prior to specialising in Illustration, Justin found that graphical elements became crucial to the development of his distinctive style. This counterbalanced the hand-made character of his work, which gives it clear marketability. The use of various materials and collage make his illustrations far from prescriptive.

Intricate detail interweaved with visual abundance and references to Victoriana and Bauhaus give his work not only an intriguing quality but also a modern edge with a definite nostalgic feel communicating a sense of looking back in time.

Mazzotta graduated from the LCP in 2002 and has since completed various commissions including book covers, illustrations, posters, magazine editorials and an ongoing newsletter for London Borough of Barnet.
