Born in Hong Kong, playwright and scriptwriter Dr. Simon Wu has been living and writing in London for the, will be recorded in December 2007 to be broadcast by BBC World Service in early 2008. His play, Wolf in the House, was shortlisted for the Gate’s Translation Awa past five years. In October 2007 Simon was awarded a grant from the Peggy Ramsay Foundation to develop his new writing. In the same month Simon’s short film script, Merry-go-round, was awarded the Enfield Film Fund. Last year Simon’s film script, China Watch, was short-listed for the Haringey Short Film Fund. He has received a conditional grant of £2,500 for the production of Wolf in the House by China Now, a project in conjunction with the Pearl Foundation to raise funding and sponsorship from the UK Chinese British community for arts projects leading up to the Beijing Olympics.
