Drostle, Gary

Born in Woolwich, southeast London, Gary Drostle has been working professionally as a public artist for over twenty years. His work includes major commissions for local authorities, health authorities, architects and landscape designers and can be seen in public buildings, parks, town centres, hospitals, corporate and private residencies across the UK and in the USA.
In recognition of his work in the field of contemporary mosaic Gary was elected President of the ‘British Association for Modern Mosaic’ in 2006 and in the same year was made a Queen Elizabeth Scholar.
Gary works from his studio in the centre of Greenwich creating bespoke murals, mosaics and three-dimensional artworks to commission. At the core of his work is a responsiveness to the site and the local community combined with a commitment to quality in design, fabrication and associated services. His work also includes collaboration with other artists, community-based artworks and lectures in the UK and USA.
