My roots are in painting, drawing and poetry ~ for many years. In the last few years though, I have surprized myself by branching into music ~ I play guitar, and perform and write my own songs ~ often with other musicians. This has become a source of great joy and fulfillment to me and songs and poems are continually tapping on my shoulder ..... I have also written a verse drama (described as an 'epic pantomime') about the life of the Buddha. (I was bought up as a Buddhist). Since the beginning of this year I have been making a poem and performance piece, called 'When Woman created the World.' Like the universe, it is expanding and I am inviting other poets and singer songwriters to contribute to it's development. So far, I have had two powerful and lyrical contributions from a poet and a singer song writer. Accompanying this is a series of images, created on the Paint programme, (which I have grown to love ) ~ which illustrate Woman creating everything from the first flea, to snow and the first man! I perform my poems and songs all over London and also feature and perform at an evening I have set up myself at the upstairs room of a pub in South East London. This evening is called 'Voices of Experience' ~ 'A vibrrrrrant evening of music and poetry' ~ and has attracted a 'triumph' of original and inspiring performers. It has also provided me with a regular platform to hone my own performance skills. 'When Woman created the world' has already been featured there twice, and danced into being by a gifted and original performance artist and poet.
