Main instrument played & taught I am able to play and teach piano/ keyboard ,clarinet, saxophones at all levels. Additional instruments taught piano / keyboard /organ / clarinet to A/B/E/ levels and basso clarinet, sax soprano, alto, tenor and baritone at all levels. Other teaching skills offered: Composition, Instrumentation for Symphony/String/Chamber/ Brass/ Woodwind and jazz ( big band – swing, pop, rock and funk groups ) orchestras and practical Improvisation –classical and jazz I have twelve years experience in organising concerts, lectures and workshops with contemporary music. I was also the organiser of the largest contemporary music festival in Baltic – the annual New Music Forum, which was held in Riga and others towns of Latvia, comprises more then 60 concerts and masterclasses. I have composed and performed on over 20 CD’s with different stiles of music and musician ranging from classical concerto to jazz. I also performed in Japan, Philippines, Germany, Russia, UK, France, Sweden, Falkland’s, Norway, Denmark and many others European Countries. I have my own Trio – “Egils Straume Trio” playing acoustic music based on Indo - European and classical jazz traditions. The music is also influenced by so called “ Third stream music”. The critics say “:……..one of the best free jazz groups in the East European Countries.” Has contemporary music trio with Riga Piano Duo “ Nora & Raffi “ I am Author of numerous works including an Opera, six Oratories and Cantatas, seven Instrumental concertos : for Violin, Bassoon, French horn, Clarinet, Oboe, Saxophone alto and Piano Duo, Choral and Vocal cycles. Chamber music, music for children and music for theatre and for films. World Premiere at 10th of July 2004 at Lincoln Cathedral - “ A Shepherd kept a sheep on a Hill so High “ for bagpipes, organ and symphony orchestra.- commissioned by Lincoln County Council.
