So you think you can dance?

18/03/2009

CAT students come from every walk of life and have a variety of previous dance experiences. They work with a highly skilled team of dance teachers and artists in weekly classes on Saturdays with additional evening classes on offer, plus special projects during the school holidays. The programme includes contemporary dance, ballet, choreography, dance fitness and health, performance opportunities, experience in different dance styles, visits to dance performances, collaborative projects and careers advice. In the next term Laban CAT students will be working with leading dance companies and choreographers, Henri Oguike Dance Company, Shobana Jeyasingh Dance Company, Kenneth Tharp and Lost Dog.

Recent CAT graduates have gone on to study at top dance colleges including London Contemporary Dance School, Northern School of Contemporary Dance and Laban itself.

The CAT scheme is funded by the Department for Children, Schools and Families’ Music and Dance Scheme and grants are available on a means tested basis.

Laban will be holding open days on March 28/29 and auditions throughout May. For more information please contact Martin Collins, Laban’s CAT Programme Manager on 020 8469 9462 or email m.collins@laban.org

“Attending the CAT I have met the most amazing people and friends that I know will stay with me for a very long time, I have learned more about myself and dance and I have found a future career.” – Laban CAT student
