Hospital Arts

The Hospital Arts programme of Chelsea and Westminster Health Charity helps to create a healing environment within Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, where visual and performing arts are combined to help relieve anxiety and assist in recovery. Since Chelsea and Westminster Hospital opened in 1993, its integrated arts programme has become internationally recognised for its pioneering activities, benefiting patients, their families, staff, visitors and the whole community. The arts are an integral part of the hospital's holistic philosophy of healthcare. The Charity's visual art collection is the most comprehensive collection of contemporary British art on display in a hospital, available to be viewed by the patients, staff, visitors and the local community free of charge, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Hospital Arts' performing arts programme has an international reputation for its lunchtime performances and occasional free gala performances.
