LONDON GREETERS
Are you a self confident, outgoing person?
Do you have a passion for Camden and promoting Camden?
Do you know the local area well?
If the answer is Yes….. you may be just the person we’re looking for!
We are currently looking for local volunteers to meet and greet visitors to be a part of our London Greeters’ project.
As a Greeter, you would welcome people from all around the world. You will help the visitor find out about the best places for families to visit, places to eat, how to use local transport and to learn more about the borough’s great cultural and visitor offer. Meeting a Greeter is an exiting experience for all those involved and is a service that will be provided to visitors completely free.
The amount of time you dedicate to the scheme will be completely up to you. You will only be expected to give to the scheme when it is practical and comfortable to do so. Training will be provided and guidance will be given to ensure that greetings follow a similar pattern.
This is a great opportunity and we welcome applications from all backgrounds and abilities. However, Greeters are ambassadors for their areas and so an application system is in place and acceptance for becoming a volunteer is not automatic.
Skills/ Experience required:
• Love and know your local area well
• Share your personal stories and favourite locations
• Know some stories about the areas heritage, history and/or architecture
• Welcome everyone
• Accept regular visits
• Sign up to our greeters challenge
