Kwapong, Amoafi
Amoafi Kwapong is an Independent Consultant of Early Childhood Education using storytelling and African Music to help develop children's oral and written language. She works in Early Years settings and primary schools, as well as with adults who work with children, such as teachers, Librarians, Nursery Nurses and Play Leaders. Amoafi works formally in Higher Education as an Associate Lecturer teaching 'Childhood' (an interdisciplinary study embracing Education, Psychology, Social policy, Anthropology and Cultural Studies), and 'working with children in the Early Years'. Storytelling and music inspire both children and adults to think and learn. They stimulate the imagination, and generate conversation because we tell stories several times everyday. Storytelling helps young children to develop their confidence, self esteem, assertiveness and identities. Amoafi negotiates with organisations (Schools, colleges, Universities, Libraries, Theatres and Community Centres) and tailors each programme to individual needs. She believes everyone is capable of achieving something in life; therefore she works informally also to meet those objectives through facilitating and supporting learners. Amoafi prefers to undertake development
