Evans, Nathan
Nathan studied performance and film at the Ruskin School of Fine Art, Oxford and was a music scholar at Worcester College. He continues to work in theatre, music and cinema. THEATRE-WRITER/PERFORMER Nathan's first play BABY was performed in the 1998 Royal Court Young Writer's Festival. THE BOY WITH THE THORN IN HIS SIDE was performed at The Arcola Theatre in 2002 and Nathan recently completed a commission for The Bush Theatre. He is also currently performing two musicals for puppets- HEAVEN KNOWS I'M MISERABLE NOW, based on songs by The Smiths and THE KATE BUSH CURIOSITY CABARET at Duckie (home of The Divine David, Chris Green, Ursula Martinez). Previous performances include GUERILLA GARDENING, a monologue, premiered at Battersea Arts Centre then presented at the Pleasance Edinburgh 2001 in a double bill with THE COMING-IN SHOW, a mini musical for one-man and casio keyboard, an untitled work at the ICA, a one-man HAMLET with video and puppets (DeMarco Foundation, Edinburgh), and various roles in THE WARP, a twenty-four hour play with the Ken Campbell Company. FILM-WRITER/DIRECTOR THE SIGNIFICANT DEATH OF QUENTIN CRISP, a half-hour documentary, was broadcast on channel 4 in 2000 and has screened at festivals in LA and New York.
