I am a sound designer working in the area of film and television drama. When I work on a film, I'll get involved right from the pre-production stage, getting closely involved in production sound capture and picture editorial, right through to audio post-production. My mission is to create great sound for moving pictures, and working towards enhancing the value of sound in cinema. This doesn't necessarily mean overwhelming soundtracks; often less is more. It's more about sensitivity to the needs of the story. My background before getting involved in film is one of creating electronic music and sound art. I studied Sound Arts and Design at the London College of Printing, where I am also a visiting tutor in sound for film.
