Hill, Andrea
I graduated from Goldsmiths with B.A Honours Degree in textiles / fine art in 1989. My work involved the use of the family album, since that time I have used anonymous old photographs, found objects collected during various travels around Europe and Flea Markets in Paris and Russia. I use the text torn from re-cycled books to form my own text to create artists books and box assemblage work. I am published in many publications and catalogues regarding artists books, various magazines and newspaper articles. Further details are available on request. My work is held in private collections and I exhibit in the UK and abroad in Italy, USA and with the Budapest Book Artists in Hungary. Each year I exhibit in the London Artist Book Fair. My work involves various projects within schools, mainstream and service special needs. I am also involved in arts in hospitals and have made work relating to X-ray film imaging. My recent work involves research into icons and shrines, and the emotional symbolism contained within them.
