Conner,
Angela
The artists uses the elements of natural forces, wind, water, gravity, the sun,s shadows, & so on to create her sculpture. She mainly produces mobiles moved solely by the elements that surround all of us. For this reason, unlike mechanical solutions, the work is both very soothing and tranquil to watch and does not go wrong through failure engines, electric units etc. She has major works both in Britain and many countries abroad. A video of these is available. Angela Conner has built both indoor & outdoor mobiles in Europe. Her famous one at Chatsworth, The Duke of Devonshire,s home open to the public, & her ones in Dublin, & Pittsburgh U.S.A have been on television many times. Angela Conner sometimes undertakes bronze portraits. In the last three months they include Tom Stoppard, Lord Rothschild & HRH The Late Queen Mother. She is currently working on two projects in the U.S.A, a 70ft water mobile entrance arch for Lord Bath of Longleat, & a gold and silver mobile centrepiece for the state dining table of 10 Downing Street. She is to have a one-person show at Inner Temple Garden, spring 2004. For more information please call 0207 987 2542.
