Bianchi, Barbara
These both notions of exploration and freedom are legitimately and naturally prevalent in the process of my creation through the diversity of materials I use in view to achieve my aesthetic goals. They are mainly fish nets, bird feathers or torn pages of a travel book.
Fuelled by a constant and punctilious examination of animal and marine kingdom, my work highlights the ecological and philosophical issue of the earth and marine life and its biodiversity; focussing on how some species may face extinction in the future. The key motivation is to anticipate the dehumanization of the earth and eventually the one of our society.
However, even if my approach may be perceived like a militant one and the fact that this work show a strong ecological warning - my aim is to treat the subject in a rather poetic or witty way, and sometimes with humour, avoiding purposefully didactics and seriousness.
