Gee, Richard


As a Poet he is well known on the London Spoken Word scene and has performed extensively including at the Nuyorican Poets cafe in New York, the International Poetry Slam in Toronto, Canada as well as at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland. He has run the regular Brixton poetry event "Brix-tongue" since 2002 to much acclaim. He also conducts creative writing workshops to enable teenagers to be more expressive and was the poet in residence at Pimlico School as part of their Peer Mentoring Project. He has DJed throughout the UK playing his unique blend of Hip Hop, Funk, Reggae and Soul and was a resident DJ at the Spot in Covent Garden. He has recently released his debut CD "Poetry in the Key of Gee" which covers a multitude of subjects based from his own unique perspective and features collaborations with many other rising stars from the Spoken Word scene.
