Mourad, Joumana

Joumana has developed an impressive body of work in the last ten years. To date, she has created 8 productions for IJAD as well as choreographing for Jumeira Productions, Piedo Dance Company USA, Polite Company, the National Youth Music Theatre Company and US Advertising Agency Big Photographic. Joumana has taught contemporary, jazz and creative movement classes at - Lewisham College - Living Well Health Clubs - Various schools and community centres throughout London. Dance is about the moment - the process of arriving at the moment and its outcome. Passion, energy, the meeting of body and mind, emotion, motion, euphoria.... I think this is why most people get addicted to dance. For me, the energy that I have experienced whilst moving created a feeling of wholeness and completeness, integrating each cell in my body and mind. This state of being and all its subliminal elements drove me to find new ways of exploring, developing, and working with this art form.
