Davies, Eiran
Eiran Davies is a self taught jeweller and artist based in London, England. Working in precious metals, stones and vitreous enamel, his work intended to form a dialogue between past and future, creating objects that transcend the everyday, and have true power in the present. Essentially, my work is symbolic. Drawing influence from such diverse areas as Islamic art and architecture, Freemasonry, and Alchemy, recombining all these things with modern techniques and sensibilities. The environment, in which these craftsmen were working, not only allowed them to perfect their skill, but also required that they put great symbolism into their work. The combination of skill, symbolism and art, can produce work of unimaginable beauty and immense power. I hope in my work, to produce objects of beauty and power, by combining these elements in a new context. My most recent work incorporates mathematically abstract focus, and figurative depictions of animals, real and mythological.
