Rosa, Sepulveda
I believe my work is concerned with issues to do with memory, landscape and metamorphosis. I see my work like being a reflection of my inner self as a female artist painter. For my inspiration I draw for images which emerge from a variety of sources, ideas from childhood and adolescence experiences and from issues of the human condition such as death and transformation and the tensions between opposites. More particular I am interested in depicting the language as a metaphor for a poetic visionary world. Female elements merge with nature to draw on the ambiguities of form and subject matter. My work is connected with some of the surrealist artists like Odilon Redon and with some contemporary nature painters such as Ken Keef. However the images that I am currently developing, perhaps, links me with the subject matter of artists like Edward Munch, although, as I already have said in the beginning, I can see my work to have a strong character in a female perspective and these fine connections could be made with the works of other female artists, like Amanda Faulkner and Frida Kahlo.
