Kensington and Chelsea College, Dance

The dance dept at KCC runs a full time accredited Dance Foundation Course (15Hrs per week) involving contemporary, ballet, choreography, rehearsals, Pilates, anatomy and performance. Past students have gone on to colleges and universities including Rambert, LCDS, Middlesex University, Lewisham, Millennium Dance 2000, Roehampton and Surrey Universities. Students have had access to professional Theatres including Lilian Baylis, The Ryan theatre and Studio Theatre as well as less obvious venues including HMP Bullwood Hall, HMP Styal and Southwark Cathedral. Professional guest tutors/Choreographers have included Tammy Mclorg ex director of Dundee Rep presently a senior lecturer at Middlesex, Darren Ellis has worked with many leading companies including Random, Matthew Bournes Swan Lake and Siobhan Davis. The college also hosts a wide range of evening and weekend courses including Salsa, Tango, Scottish dance, Tap, Ballroom, St Jazz, Body conditioning, Contemporary and Ballet. All staff are highly qualified and experienced. The majorities have been professional performers; their training includes Ballet Rambert, Middlesex University and The Royal Ballet. The bright, mirrored extremely spacious dance studios are a joy to work and dance in.
