Mathias, Lawrence

I am an artist and writer based in N.W. London, and have worked extensively throughout London and the UK. I specialise in murals, painting, sculpture, modelling, ceramics and mosaics, and other media. I also write for the theatre, and have produced three plays, all performed professionally. I work with schools, excluded groups and community organisations to develop ideas, and also do a wide range of private commissioned work, as well as personal work for exhibitions.
I believe strongly in the value of community and educational arts, and consider the artist’s role in many of these instances is as a valuable facilitator to often ambitious schemes. In my work with the theatre, promotion of actors and new writing is a primary interest, as well as providing opportunities for community actors to work alongside professionals. I am currently helping Harrow Council to set up a local drama forum for NW London, which would seek to develop new drama and promote local actors in the area.
