Meljon Singers

The Meljon Singers is one of London’s most innovative vocal ensembles. With conductor Janette Ruocco, Meljon is committed to giving audiences fresh and vivid musical experiences of the highest quality. Look out for new and unjustly neglected choral works, and intriguing juxtapositions which stretch the boundaries of conventional concert programming.

Meljon appears regularly in east and central London, and by invitation in other parts of the UK and abroad. Their 2007 Season included appearances in Italy as part of the international XII Rassegna Corale Levantese, performing a typically adventurous programme of a cappella music ranging from Palestrina to a work newly composed by Janette Ruocco and dedicated to the director of the festival. 2008 offers a candelight performance of the complete Rachmaninov All-Night Vigil (“Vespers”) and a first appearance at Snape Maltings as part of a collaborative venture with young musicians from Essex.
