My canvases range widely in subject matter. From skaters on the Southbank, to library books in Victoria, to fishing boats in Mersea, I try to capture the obvious and the obscure alike. However the format of my work remains always constant. I like to link images together that seem unrelated, but complement each other visually. By always making canvases exactly the same in scale, I have a constantly expanding library of images which can be swapped into different sequences, bringing light to different nuances in the individual pieces.







I work on the photographic image to emphasize what initially drew me to capture the image. I aim to make work that has a hyper real or dreamlike feel to it. I would like to think of my work as celebrating, not just representing what has been captured. I use camera, ink and paint alike in trying to achieve this.
