Childrens Arts Festivals and Events (CAFE) London

CAFE London (Childrens Arts Festivals and Events London) a new organisation that develops high quality, innovative arts events for children.

In particular we aim to

produce high quality, innovative arts events for children and their families including, but not limited to festivals, concerts, variety shows and exhibitions, and to explore new forms of presentation

provide opportunities for children to engage with art forms leading to greater creative inspiration and self confidence and more positive role models.

create settings for children and their families to engage the arts that are welcoming and accessible as well as stimulating, empowering and enjoyable

encourage and enable participation in the arts by children and their families who may not have had opportunities to do so previously

embrace and present the breadth of cultural diversity within the UK with a particular emphasis on that in North West London

involve and collaborate with other local organisations, groups, public bodies, businesses and artists.

be a learning organisation that explores and learn from best practice in cultural activity elsewhere and respond to current thought on how children develop through creative engagement with the arts

listen to and learn from children and their families and to incorporate them in evaluating and developing its projects

bridge the gaps between ‘childrens’ and ‘adults’ arts, not avoiding the challenging and complex

provide a space for artists to explore working with young people

operate primarily for children aged 4-10 and their families

work initially within the areas of South Kilburn, Queens Park, Maida Vale and Westbourne, all in North West London, while developing the potential to work beyond these areas


MISH MASH

The first CAFE LONDON project is a bi-monthly ‘children’s cabaret’ or variety show called MISH MASH, that brings together live music, circus, comedy, dance and more in an action packed two hours on bi-monthly Sunday afternoons.
