My special areas are documentary and portrait photography. In my photographs, I try to utilise colour and space to portray the essence of a situation or a person.

Having been a teacher for many years, I enjoy running workshops in schools and colleges on themes of photography and representation, cultural diversity and photography as a way into writing and reading.

Now that photography has attained unprecedented popularity it can be a tool of cross curricular and cross cultural dialogue.
