The Seer, www.theseer.info, is the free online directory and resource for all of London’s creative individuals, organisations, venues, commissioners and bookers to find, receive and promote arts and creative information in London. It is also a key research and communication resource for London's Local Authorities, Arts Council England, London, arts policy makers and researchers.

If you are an individual artist, an arts organisation or a venue operating anywhere in London, working in any discipline, register with theSeer and add your profile to our Directory for FREE. A Directory Entry allows you to add and change your information and images whenever you like. If you are looking for an artist or organisation to work with, or find out what venues are in your area, browsing through the Directory is a great place to start. You can also add What's On listings to promote what you are doing, submit Opportunities such as workshops or paid & unpaid jobs and upload your latest News stories. The information you add will appear on the website and will automatically be included in our e-newsletters.

Background

The Seer was first launched as a Pilot site in March 2004 by London Borough Brent, Royal Borough Kensington & Chelsea and Arts Council England, London. Following feedback from the pilot, the site was reviewed, redeveloped & relaunched in May 2006 to cover all of London. Currently, the site has over 3,500 registered users, including 900+ organisations & venues. Our Directory contains over 1,200 Directory Profiles and receives 15-20,000 visitors per month.

TheSeer.info is managed by London’s local authority Arts teams. They monitor the information on the site to make sure it's appropriate, use the site as their database to keep registered users informed about opportunities and activities they are running and they actively use the site to find artists and groups to commission for a range of projects. By registering on the site, you can also help local authorities gain a better understanding of the arts sector in London and help them make more informed development decisions. Currently, The Seer comprises of sixteen local authorities actively supporting the project (see our contact page for more info) - if you work with a local authority, please contact Tim Jukes at info@theSeer.info to find out how you get involved with the project.
