About Us

TheSeer.info is the free online directory and resource for all of London’s creative individuals, organisations, venues, commissioners and bookers to find, receive and promote arts and creative information in London. It is also a key research and communication resource for London's Local Authorities, Arts Council England, London, arts policy makers and researchers.

Individual artists, arts organisations and venues can Register and continuously edit their Directory entry, promote performances and exhibitions in What's On, advertise workshops and paid and unpaid jobs in Opportunities and upload their own News stories.

Anyone can Register for a Newsletter enabling them to create their own MySeer Profile, to receive What’s On, Opportunities and the latest News by choosing their own particular areas of interest to be received by email on a daily or weekly basis.

TheSeer.info is managed by London’s local authority Arts teams. London's Local Authority Partners can run reports to create base line figures on the number of artists, arts organisations and venues in each borough, monitor trends and inform development needs.  Partner London Local Authorities can also access the Directory in the form of a database, enabling access to constantly updated contact information for their local authority area.  An additional feature for partners is the database can also be used for each Arts Team's own private database, which will not appear pubically, allowing all data to be easily managed in one place.  To enquire about becoming a London Local Authority partner please email info@theSeer.info or telephone 020 8937 3119.

The site was first run as a pilot from March 2004 in partnership between the London Borough of Brent, the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea and Arts Council England, London.  In the first year over 600 individuals, arts organisations and venues from the two boroughs registered their details.  The current site was launched at the beginning of 2006 and is run in partnership with ten London local authorities situated in West and North London with continuing support from Arts Council England, London.  TheSeer.info anticipates becoming a pan London partnership resource from April 2006.
